Apply for Myanmar Visa

The applicant needs to apply for Myanmar Visa at the official website of Myanmar Embassy. The applicant firstly needs to fill the online application form which is available on the official website of Myanmar Embassy.

Fill up the application form:

The applicant needs to follow all the instructions and fill up the correct information. The form asks for personal details like name, age, gender, address, and contact details. Other than the personal information there are fields like the purpose of visit, type of visa, the documents that will be submitted and many more. The applicant must make sure he/she fills up all the mandatory details; otherwise, the form can get rejected.

Payment method:

After filling up the application form the next step is to choose a payment method for the fees. Only Demand Drafts and Bank cheques are accepted for offline payment. For online payment, a credit card with a visa or master card is accepted. The cost may vary based on the type of visa and the number of travelers.

Confirmation email:

Once the payment is accepted the applicant will receive an email with the application code. Within 1 to 3 days the applicant will receive the confirmation letter through a mail. The applicant needs to attach a printout of the confirmation letter with the other documents that are to be submitted to the authorities. The applicant needs to show the print out of the Visa at the airport, after checking all the details the applicant’s passport will be stamped.

Where to apply for Myanmar Visa?

The applicant can apply online, and the process is explained above in brief. After filling up the form, the applicant needs to submit the required documents. There are countries which officially works for the Myanmar Embassy. The applicant can submit the documents to the Myanmar Embassy in his/her country.

The Embassy is open for five business days, i.e. Monday to Friday. The office remains closed on Saturday and Sunday. The office working hours are 9.00 AM to 4.30 PM. The applicant can visit the Myanmar Embassy during office hours.

What is the processing time for Myanmar Visa?

Myanmar Visa is processed only after the application form is filled with proper details and full payment is made. The processing time is typically three business days.

It is advised to apply for a visa before one month from the travel date. So that it does not delay or cancel your trip.

Myanmar Visa Requirements

The applicant is eligible for Visa only if he/she meets the requirements of the Visa. The requirements depend on the type of Visa.

1.Myanmar Tourist Visa (Single Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • Copy of round-trip air ticket.
  • Hotel booking forms.

 

2.Myanmar Social Visa (Single Entry/Multiple Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • Invitation letter from the relatives in Myanmar with their exact address.
  • In case the applicant is married to the Myanmar citizen; the applicant must provide a copy of the marriage certificate.
  • If the applicant is applying for social Multiple Entry Visa, the applicant needs to visit Myanmar once on Single Social Visa and the applicant requires to submit the approved evidence which states the reason for applying for Social Multiple Entry Visa.

 

3.Myanmar Education Visa (Single Entry/Multiple Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • Recommendation letter from the University/University of Foreign Languages if you are going to Myanmar for study purpose.
  • Recommendation letter from School if you are a professor and visiting Myanmar for offering lectures at the schools under the ministry of education.
  • If the applicant is applying for Education Multiple Entry Visa the applicant needs to visit Myanmar once on Single Education Visa, and the applicant requires to submit the approved evidence which states the reason for applying for Education Multiple Entry Visa.

 

4.Myanmar Journalist visa (Single entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • Recommendation letter of employment from local media.
  • Documents certifying that the employing media is recognised by the Ministry of Information/Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • Recommendation letter from ministry concerned to certify the attending of a local event.
  • Copy of round-trip air ticket.

 

5.Myanmar Crew Visa (Single Entry/Multiple Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • A copy of official Crew License.
  • Cover letter stating the reason why he/she wants to visit Myanmar on Crew Visa. The Cover Letter must have the personal details like name and address of the contact person.
  • If the applicant is applying for Crew Multiple Entry Visa the applicant needs to visit Myanmar once on Single Crew Visa, and the applicant requires to submit the approved evidence which states the reason for applying for Crew Multiple Entry Visa.

6.Myanmar Employment Visa (Single Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • Labour registration certificate issued by the Ministry of Labour.
  • Invitation letter from the company of Myanmar.

 

7.Myanmar Workshop/seminar/Meeting/Research Visa (Single Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • Invitation letter from the Ministry/Organization of Myanmar.

8.Myanmar Gratis Diplomatic/Official Courtesy Visa (Single Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • The order of Myanmar assignment assigned to the diplomats or a member of a diplomatic mission by the country concerned.
  • Invitation Letter or Appointment Letter issued by the Myanmar Ministry.

 

9.Myanmar Official Visa (Single Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • The name of the international organisation which should be recognised by the UN.
  • The organisation must be registered under the Myanmar Ministry.
  • The applicant must mention the place of business in Myanmar and the type of business.
  • The applicant must submit an Undertaking form stating that he/she will follow all the rules and regulations including the national laws.

 

10.Myanmar Transit Visa (Single Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • A copy of the air ticket which shows the details of his/her journey.

 

11.Myanmar Business Visa (Single Entry /Multiple Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • Invitation letter from the organisation of Myanmar which he/she will be visiting.
  • The Indian business company’s registration form.
  • A cover letter from the Indian Business Company. The letter must state the type of business he/she would like to do in Myanmar.
  • If the applicant is applying for Business Multiple Entry Visa the applicant needs to visit Myanmar once on Single Business Visa, and the applicant requires to submit the approved evidence which states the reason for applying for Business Multiple Entry Visa.

 

12.Myanmar Religious Visa (Single Entry /Multiple Entry):

  • Application form.
  • Six months valid passport.
  • Passport copy.
  • Two white background colour photos which should not be older than six months.
  • Invitation letter from Myanmar’s religious place.
  • If the applicant is applying for Religious Multiple Entry Visa the applicant needs to visit Myanmar once on Single Religious Visa, and the applicant requires to submit the approved evidence which states the reason for applying for Religious Multiple Entry Visa.

 

Myanmar Visa for Indians (Visa-on-Arrival)

Visa on arrival is also known as VOA. Visa on arrival is a visa that is issued to the applicant after the applicant reaches the destination. There is no need to issue your visa beforehand. Visa on arrival might sound like an easy process, but sometimes it can be a lengthy process. As people have started using VOA more frequently, people have to wait for their turn. Myanmar Employment Visa:

Employment Visa is issued to the employee who is appointed by the Myanmar Company. This allows the applicant to stay in Myanmar and work for the Myanmar Company. Employment Visa is a single-entry Visa.

Myanmar Workshop/Seminar/Meeting/Research Visa:

This Visa is granted to the applicants who visit Myanmar to attend a workshop, seminar or a meeting that is held in Myanmar. This kind of Visa is also given to the researchers to visit Myanmar for research purpose. This is a single-entry Visa.

Myanmar Diplomatic or Courtesy Visa:

Diplomatic Visa is granted to diplomats. Diplomats are the foreign or Indian citizens who have a diplomatic passport and needs to travel to Kenya to perform his/her official duties. Diplomatic passport holders are the representatives of a particular country. E.g., Mr Narendra Modi is the representative of India and therefore he is a diplomatic passport holder.

Myanmar Official Visa:

Official Visa is a visa that is granted to the government officials with service passport. Government officials who visit Myanmar to perform their official duties.

Myanmar Transit Visa:

Transit Visa is a temporary visa that is given to an Indian traveller when he/she needs to halt at Myanmar to reach his/her destination. Transit visa is not granted to the people who wish to stay in Myanmar for business, tourism or medical purpose. Transit Visa is a single use visa. Transit Visa is valid for at least three days.
