Delhi to Jaipur Road Trip

Jaipur, the Pink city, the larger-than-life city, the most historical city built in the 18th century is one of the most welcoming destinations in our country.

There are many ways to reach Jaipur. Arguably, a road trip would be the most exciting.

Road trips are enthralling, adventurous and experiences that involve immense learning. Best of the friendships are made in road trips and most memorable moments are achieved in road trips. When road trips end, they end like movies. Curtains drop, you are home and back to the salt mines. But Delhi to Jaipur is known to be a different trip than any other road trip only because it is extremely easy. There is no moment of danger, no roadblocks, in fact, a lot of reassurance that you are in a home away from your home.

Best time to visit

Summers, between April and July, are known to be excruciatingly hot in Jaipur, as it is a city in a desert. Hence it is not advisable to visit during summers. Anytime between October and March is suitable as an ideal time to visit. However, during these months, the maximum tourist footfalls occur making it crowded. Another alternative is to make your road trip during monsoons. The season is between July and September and is full of heavy rains. Hence adequate caution should be observed while driving on the highway during the monsoon season.

Places to Eat

Food in Jaipur dates back hundreds of years. Historic rulers used to focus tremendously on the quality and tradition of their way of cooking. They believe in slow-cooked meat, to ensure that food filled with richness.

Some of the popular restaurants are as follows:

Anokhi Café

This place offers a soothing ambience and great service. Coffee cake is famous here. It offers fusion cuisine catering to all palettes.

Laxmi Mishtan Bhandar

This vegetarian restaurant guarantees tasty traditional food. It may not boast about ambience and size.

Spice Court

This is heaven for non-vegetarians, as it specializes in local traditional cuisine here. At the same time, folk artists entertain you with dance and music. This place is known for Govind Gatte, laalmaas, etc. and most importantly for a memory of best food in Jaipur.

Distance between Delhi to Jaipur is 268 kms. Google Maps often show the trip duration as five hours, however, a bummer to that duration is city traffic. All in all, it is likely to be over six hours. There are many routes that lead to Jaipur. Most have told, barring one. Maximum toll one has to pay is around Rs. 350. You have to start the journey with NH 48 from Delhi to approximately 50 km away from Jaipur, post which you have to take NH 52 and finally right turn into Ajmer Road. Alternatively, the minimum toll road and longest duration call for driving mid-way through NH 48 and then turning towards Dharuhera - Bhiwadi Bypass Rd.

The journey is enthralling thanks to the great highways and the panoramic view of the Aravalli Range. Manesar Toll Plaza is the start of the thrill.

What to eat and stopovers

The best part of Delhi to Jaipur road trip is the list of so many historical places like Bhangarh Fort, Neemrana Fort and myriads of small forts on the way for pit stops.

Some mouth-watering street food on the way is an unending variety in chats, Dal Kachoris and Choormas.

It may also make sense to carry a hammer, just to stay steer clear of rare situations like being stuck in a car. And the most important of all is a first-aid kit in case of injury. Finally, it is critical to check the expiry date of your two wheeler insurance or Car insurance you can renew it from Bharti AXA GI if the expiry date is around the corner.
