Car Insurance - Claim

In the unfortunate event of a car accident, you can rely on our absolute assistance in getting you back on your feet, quickly.

Simply follow these steps and you will soon be on your way to a quicker claim settlement.

Cashless Claims registration

  • Note the vehicle registration number of the opponent vehicle involved in the accident, if vehicle has collided with another vehicle
  • Note down the name and contact numbers of witnesses, if any.
  • You can contact us through any of our 24x7 convenient intimation modes
    • Call us on a toll-free number (1800-103-2292) or
    • Drop us an email (claims@bhartiaxa.com) to register your claim
  • Once your claim is registered, you will receive a confirmation SMS on your registered number within an hour. This will have your Bharti-AXA General Insurance (BAGI) claim number along with the next steps towards your claim settlement process.
  • In less than 24 hours of your claim registration, a BAGI representative will call you explaining the complete process and intimating you about the various documents that you will need to furnish for claim processing.
  • File an FIR at the police station nearest to the accident spot in case of third party property damage or bodily injury, theft, malicious damage, key loss and major accidents.
  • Take the vehicle immediately to the suggested garage
  • We will appoint a surveyor to come and physically inspect the car within 24 hours.
  • Besides the damage to the vehicle, submit all mandatory documents, such as
    • Self-attested registration certificate,
    • Driving license
    • KYC Document (For loss above 1Lakh) i.e and
    • Original claim form to repairer or surveyor and get them verified with originals.
  • For Commercial Vehicle claim submit Fitness Certificate, Route Permit ,Goods Receipt (If loaded) etc.
  • Surveyor will assess the loss based on policy terms and condition
  • You have an option of several cashless garages across India. Click here to find the one closest to you.
  • Once the work is completed, the garage will submit its repair invoice and the re-inspection of vehicle will be done
  • Payments that need to borne by us at our preferred garage will be made directly to the garage on completion of the repairs.
  • Our CSM will inform you about the balance amount that has to be paid by you as per policy terms and conditions.

Non - Cashless Claims registration

Health Insurance - Claim

We have a simplified claims procedure so you can focus on getting better while we look at bringing the best service to you.

Simply follow these steps to make your claim settlement faster.

Claim Notification

  • You can contact us through any of our 24x7 convenient intimation modes
  • You can reach out to us through below mediums to initiate your claims:
  • Do ensure that all relevant and necessary details are included in the claim notification
    • Policy number
    • Name of the insured
    • Name of covered person/insured member making the claim
    • Contact details
    • Nature of the disease
    • illness or injury
    • name and address of the hospital
    • Phone number of the attending medical practitioner/hospital
    • Date of hospitalization.
  • Your claim notification must reach Bharti-AXA General Insurance (BAGI) within 48 hours of date of admission to the hospital or before discharge from the hospital, whichever is earlier.
  • If the insured person is unwell and not in a position to make the claim, then the next adult member must take care of all details.
  • We will dispatch the claim form as soon as we receive the notification.

Cashless hospitalization

  • You can avail of cashless hospitalization. Click here for the list of 4500+ hospitals covered in this facility.
  • Upon admission (whether for an emergency or a planned procedure), a preauthorization request form has to be filled in by the treating doctor.
  • The form is available in all the network hospitals or can be downloaded from our website, to download click here.
  • You can also request for the form via email (claims@bhartiaxa.com) or our toll free number (1800-103-2292).
  • The action of pre-authorization will be done within
    • 6 hours post receiving all the documents and formalities for emergency admission , or
    • 48 hours for planned admission.
  • You will receive authorization (post discussion) for emergency admission within 6 hours of us receiving the form.
  • For a planned procedure, the action of pre-authorization will be done within 48 hours from the date of admission.
  • Denial of a cashless claim need not mean your claim has been rejected. We will examine all claims on individual merit and reimbursement will be paid later, if your claim is admissible.
  • You need not make any payment to the hospital if you have received the authorization letter, except if:
    • The bill amount is greater than the Sum Insured.
    • There are non-medical expenses
    • There was unrelated treatment
    • There is an Excess/ deductible, which have to be borne by you
  • You might also have to pay the difference if the authorized amount is less than the estimated/ actual bill amount.
  • For reimbursement, you can send all required claim documents to us seeking reimbursement.

Reimbursement claims

  • Ensure that all reimbursement claims are intimated within 7 days from date of discharge.
  • If you have been admitted in a non-network hospital, you can send the documents within 30 days from the date of discharge.
  • Do note that pre- and post-hospitalization bills can be sent within 15 days from the end of post-hospitalization period as specified in your policy.
  • We will settle your claim within 30 days from the date of submission of the requisite documents.
  • If your treatment is not covered under the policy, you must pay all bills and send us the original and other necessary documents along with the claim form.
  • If everything is in order, we will effect payment within 21 days of receiving all documents.
  • If your claim is rejected, a letter will be sent explaining the reason for the rejection.

Critical Illness Insurance - Claim

The claim should be submitted post 30 days of survival only as it is benefit plan.

Follow this easy process to get critical illness claim:

Claim form duly signed along with attending physician statement

Photocopy of the discharge summary and final bill

Photocopy of the investigation report which confirm the diagnosis, e.g. CAG report in case of Coronary artery disease/ Bypass Surgery or biopsy report in cancer cases.

Medical certificate which states details of the treatment and fitness.

If the patient gets admitted post survival period, then cashless benefit in network hospital can be extended up to the benefit amount by the TPA.

Personal Accident Insurance - Claim

The claim should be submitted post 30 days of survival only as it is benefit plan.

  • Collect and retain all your original receipts of purchases during your overseas trip, especially those against any event giving rise to claim.
  • Share complete information regarding the event and claim amount on the claim form to enable us to understand the scenario and help process your claim faster.
  • Ask for discounts for any medical consultations or hospitalization if you are paying the bills and getting reimbursement later.
  • Inform us about any hospitalization event whether or not the hospital asks you for any other details except policy copies.

  • Intimate us about any medical evacuation and repatriation events on time in order for us to assist you better.
  • Always discuss with us the options of medical evacuation and undergoing treatment in India, unless it’s an emergency.
