Exercise To Reduce Belly Fat

All of us are prone to accumulating belly fat and the reasons can range from diet and genetics to lack of exercise, fitness and the busy yet largely inactive lifestyle that we lead.

It is not only about appearance. Reducing accumulated flab is important for overall health and fitness. If you are serious about doing something to reduce belly fat, just going on a crash diet is not the answer. You need to perform fat burning exercises as part of your daily routine. Exercising correctly is the most effective way to tackle and get rid of unwanted fat in the middle.

Today we tell you about the best exercises you should do for a flat and well-toned tummy that you can flaunt with confidence. So, get going towards a leaner, fitter and healthier you!

  1. Reduce Belly Fat with Twist Crunches

Crunches count among the top belly fat reducing exercises. A twist crunch is a variation of regular crunch where you lift and cross your shoulders instead of lifting your torso.

  • Lie flat on your back on a mat with your legs and feet together.
  • Place your hands under your head.
  • With your feet firm on the floor, raise your right shoulder as much as you can towards the left. Keep the left shoulder grounded while doing so.
  • Do the same action with the left shoulder. That completes one twist crunch.
  • You can begin with 10 twist crunches and work your way up to do two or three such sets once you build strength and endurance.

  1. Reduce Belly Fat with Zumba

High energy Zumba dancing is an intense full body workout. It is a more fun way to get rid of belly fat and reduce inches around your waist. Zumba as a form of exercise has become extremely popular so you should be able to find a gym near you quite easily that offers Zumba classes. A Zumba class usually lasts 60 to 90 minutes and because you dance with others it gets you motivated to be regular. You can start with a couple of classes a week and increase both frequency and intensity gradually. This Latino inspired dancing with vigorous body movements set to peppy music with quick beats really gets you moving, burns calories quickly and helps in weight loss.

  1. Reduce Belly Fat with Jogging

Jogging is a cardio exercise that is useful to trim tummy flab while working wonders to tone and build muscle strength.

  • Jog as much as you can and whenever you can.
  • Keep challenging yourself by setting higher goals for the pace and duration of your jog.
  • Once you build sufficient strength and endurance, increase the intensity of your jog by adding an uphill climb or graduate to running.
  • Make sure you are wearing the right footwear to cushion your feet to avoid injury and keep the pressure off your knees.

  1. Reduce Belly Fat with Push Ups

Doing even a few push ups daily is sure to get you results for a flatter stomach. Push ups is a classic full body workout that activates your core muscles and lower body.

  • Get into a plank position with your body in a straight line off the floor.
  • Feet should be together with toes mounted firmly.
  • Place your arms in line with your shoulders and roll your shoulders back.
  • Bend your elbows, pressurise your hands, lower yourself to touch the mat or floor.
  • Immediately lift up to original plank position.
  • Try to do at least 10 reps to begin with.

Follow a combination of doing these exercises, getting more active and following a healthy balanced diet. You are sure to burn those excess calories; shed unwanted fat and get the flat stomach you desire. In the process you will also gain strength and endurance to stay active all day and reduce fatigue.

Making efforts towards leading a healthy life can help you stay fit and give you a better quality of life in the long run. However, you should also be prepared for an unforeseen eventuality. This is where health insurance kicks in to safeguard your finances should a medical emergency strike you or a member of your family. It is advisable to buy a health insurance plan that can give you maximum benefits such as cashless hospitalisation cover at network hospitals, critical illness cover, pre and post hospitalisation expenses coverage, lifetime renewal and 24x7 call assistance. Compare plans and insurers and purchase health insurance from a reputed health insurance company, to protect your health and finances.
