Exploring Food Culture Of Thailand

If you’ve got travel on your mind, then Thailand is a place that you should explore before any other. With tons of places to party, sites to see, and delicious foods to gorge on, Thailand is going to be a great vacation spot. When it comes to food, you will not have any shortage of delicacies to choose from, you can explore from street food to restaurants.

Here are foods that you can try next time you decide to visit Thailand, the land of smile.

  • Pad Thai

Pad Thai is available in India and all around the world, but there’s nothing like eating authentic Pad Thai from its place of origin. This dish is made by frying noodles and adding shrimps or chicken, there are vegetarian alternatives as well to this dish. It is easily available in almost every street, and it is cheap. It’s Thailand’s national dish, making it a must-have!

  • Sticky Rice

If you visit Thailand and don’t have sticky rice with mango, then you are seriously missing out on an integral part of Thailand’s delicacy. This dessert is served with chilled mangos over steaming sticky rice and then drenched with delicious coconut milk. You’ll be able to find many variations of this dish all over Thailand, they are easily available on the streets for tourist.

  •  Durian

All though Durian has a bad reputation for its smell, it is loved in Thailand. You’d find various signboards across Thailand, instructing tourists and civilians to not carry this fruit in public places. Even though it has an overpowering smell, this fruit is creamy and smooth. Many people who have tried this fruit claim that it tastes like custard, that’s not all, it has plenty of health benefits.

  •  Khao Soi

Khao Sui is a unique curry-based noodle soup that is a specialty of Thailand. It is served with crunchy pickled cabbage, coconut milk broth and delicious wheat and egg noodles. It is a filling meal, and you will find many variations of this all over Thailand. It is cheap and comes with shrimp, chicken, prawn, and vegetarian options.

  • Tom Yum Goong / Tom Yam Goong

This dish is right in the alley of a seafood lover as shrimp is one of its main ingredients. Lemongrass is a dominant ingredient in most Thai dishes, and that is the case with Tom Yum Goong as well. It is a hot and sour soup with a hint of lemongrass and deliciously cooked shrimps. Tom Yum Goong is usually spicy, you can ask for mild or no spice as well.

Along with the above, there are tons of other food delicacies you can try in Thailand. The street food culture of Thailand is exceptionally prominent, and almost everything is cooked fresh right in front of you. You can alter the spice quotient to your liking and enjoy the Thai food through your next vacation. However, since Thailand is one of the most popular tourist destinations, there are many thefts and pick pocketing that takes place. Make sure that you have your Thailand travel insurance plan in place for stress-free and fun ensured international travels.
